Holiday Park

View all homes for sale in Holiday Park, Saskatoon on the MLS®

Holiday Park is a residential neighborhood located in central Saskatoon on the west bank of the South Saskatchewan River. Roughly two-thirds of the development is detached single-family houses and duplexes with the balance of the housing stock being low-rise apartments. About half of today’s development was completed prior to 1960 so the area has a mature feel with large trees lining many of its streets.

There are two elementary schools in the area, both in the catholic school system with the Saskatoon French School offering Type “A” French immersion and St. John School providing classes in English. Public school students take the bus to nearby schools.

This area offers roughly seventeen acres of green space across three beautiful public parks. Available amenities include baseball and basketball facilities, playgrounds, walking paths and a paddling pool. Victoria Park starts in this neighborhood and extends into the King George area where you’ll find Riversdale Pool, the Saskatoon Rowing Club,  the Riverside Badminton and Tennis Club and a number of other civic amenities like a skateboard park. Of course, the Holiday Park Golf Course, a popular municipal course offering a full eighteen holes is practically in your back yard.

I dwelled at Gordon Howe Campground in the Summer of 2012 while I was on vigil over at St. Paul’s Hospital (the BEST hospital in all of Canada) and I found this neighbourhood of ‘Holiday Park’ lovely- especially if you have a BIG dog to walk. To live close to the mighty South Saskatchewan River is important to us when we return.
