http://www.ic.gc.ca/eic/site/bsf-osb.nsf/eng/br02248.html

Interesting insolvency numbers from StatsCan today:

•	Total insolvencies (business and personal) up 52% YOY nationally

If I'm reading it right, the provincial breakdown of insolvency increases is even more interesting:

•	ON up 54% YOY
•	BC up 73%
•	AB up 87%
•	SK up 99%

Only NWT and Nunavut saw a higher % increase YOY. Gah.

Jason,

Hmmm. I hadn't noticed that as I have my default area map set to only display areas within Saskatoon but I can see that there is some issue there. I'll have to run it by Bill to see if it can be addressed. Thanks for bringing it forward.

Norm, cookies work (np!) Quick question... I didn't have any luck with the 'land size' criteria (tried every land size option, but the search always returned "No listings found"); is this a result of missing or inaccurate MLS data or is this feature perhaps just not fully implemented yet? (I found a handful of acreages that only came up under 'Single Family Dwelling' for some reason, and figured land size would be a good way to expand/filter the results).

Good thoughts Jason. Maybe it could even be accomplished with a cookie. The most recent sort selection becomes the default for future sessions, or something like that. :) Thank you again.

Norm, probably both; for non-signups I could see where a pre-sort option in advance of executing the search would save a step or two. For those that do sign-up, a permanent 'setting' where you could pre-define a default would be handy (and of course, one can always override it, too).

"It’s almost like someone intentionally planned to make it really bad... I think we’re kicking in more than 1.5 million a year to run that nut house." ...!!! :O

Thanks for the feedback Jason. Just to be clear, when you say, "pre-defined sort preference" do you simply mean in advance of executing the search, as opposed to having to re-sort after the search is executed?

"don’t get me started with realtor.ca"

It's almost like someone intentionally planned to make it really bad. Collectively, as an industry, I think we're kicking in more than 1.5 million a year to run that nut house. You'd think you could get a decent search site for that.

Crikey, thanks. I've been amazed at the speed at which MyRealPage has been updating this software. Since you were using it they've added a number of different "views" for search results and "back button support" for most modern browsers. You may have been able to use your back button if you were using IE8 but the lack of it for some browsers was a bit of a weak spot.

I loved this search tool- it gave great information about the property (not found elsewhere) and the search/sort parameters were very helpful. It was also easy to send several ranked "favorites" to friends and family so they could take a gander too.

Perhaps (biased), but rightly so -- this is a very slick tool! (don't get me started with realtor.ca...) This is really well thought-out, and quite comprehensive (I really like the star-ranking system). The only suggestion I would offer is the ability to set a pre-defined sort preference, ie: "Price: high-low" (for example). Kudos!
