Montgomery Place residents win one as proposed wind turbine gets scrapped

A story in this morning’s Star Phoenix says that the wind turbine that had been previously approved by Saskatoon city council for construction has been scrapped.Only one bid was received to build the controversial 120-metre turbine, and that bid was $1.35 million more than the budget allotted for the project.

Vocal residents of Montgomery Place argued that the turbine would be an eye-sore in the historic area and that noise generated by the turbine would be troublesome to those living in the area.
